BAND YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT: Flogging Molly
Don't let the title wrap you around a concept of domestic violence, or, if your vocabulary is out-of-whack, bamboozle you, Flogging Molly is definitely not what you would expect.
With lyrically-apt original songs, and covers of other timeless Irish folk, this seven-piece Celtic punk band has some tricks up their sleeve anyone would enjoy. Fronted by the ex-heavy metal band's vocalist Dave King, Flogging Molly started in 1997 and has since released a total of seven albums, along with being featured in oodles of TV programs and films, video games, and commercials, including Gilmore Girls and PS, I Love You.
The music says it all, really, with instruments rarely found in anything even remotely punk, such as the fiddle, bodhran(yes, I did have to look that up to see what the heck it was), banjo, spoons (who knew you could play spoons?!), tin whistle, along with many, many more I can't get my head around. The lyrics also vary quite dramatically, with subject matter ranging from love to politics to getting drunk in various pubs to the Roman Catholic Church, if you can imagine that.
So, really, what's not to love? Look 'em up! Do it! Now!

Hokaaaaay...
Are there any vegans out there? Probably not, because I doubt anyone has actually seen this blog yet besides me. But later when I have maybe one, maybe two occasional readers, one of them will be vegan. Maybe even both!
The reason I ask is because this morning I woke up, (I know, pretty spectacular, isn't it?) and normally when I wake up I'm pretty hungry but this morning when I woke up I wasn't hungry at all which was weird because I did not eat any dinner last night either so I just sort of decided to go on a hunger strike. A one-day thing. It just seemed like the right time. But then it got me thinking... if I'm already veggie, why not go all the way and try for veganism?
I do have one problem, however: I'm desperately allergic to soy. One bite of tofu or sip of soy milk and my face swells with these giant blotches of something jiggly and red and my breathing becomes strained and I itch like there is no tomorrow. So I obviously couldn't have any dairy substitutes if I went vegan... except for rice milk. Does anyone know if it's possible to make cheese from rice milk? Is there such a product, this rice-cheese?
Another issue: I live in northern Wisconsin; you know, the dairy state. This one is definitely potentially problematic, mate. My family and I aren't really all-out Wisconsites, what with the cheese and beer thing, (well of course NOT with the beer thing seeing as how 4/6 of us are either underage or not human...) but it still would be hard. But I'm all out to save the piggies and cows. Mooooooo....
So I think I'm going to try for that, starting now, 'cause I don't wait for nothin', not even the new year!
And maybe that's it for now...
Farewell, nonexistent readers! Love you all!

So, I suppose this isn't really the first post...
So, my old blog, My Own Character, was getting, well, quite dreary and lame. So I started this new one! I'm not going to tell you exactly what this blog is going to hold, because, well, I don't know yet. So who am I, anyways? I'm not quite sure of that, either, but here's a rough interpretation:
Name: Lydia
Birthday: July 5th
Location: Somewhere that in 20 years I won't be.
Current Occupation: student... *sighs*
Dream Occupation: Writer... of what? I'll get to that on a later date.
Subculture: Subcultures ARE LAME! Ew. I'm a Lydia. But people call me emo so whatever.
Something I saw in YouTube and decided to do here:
FIVE FACTS!
1) I'm a vegetarian and have been for almost a year.... Wahoo! Pigs are too cute for bacon:)!
2) I'm obsessive over the Twilight saga.... don't judge me.... visit http://thetwilightersunited.blogspot.com/ it's the blog I co-own with my bestie and we rock the socks of Edward Cullen.... does he even wear socks? Questions....
3) I used to have partially pink hair but then the dye started rinsing out and I looked Irish and because leprechauns haunt my nightmares I decided to dye my whole head dark dark brown and now I'm happy:D!
4) I'm freakishly tall... five foot eleven:(.... it sucks because I always wanted one of those shirts that say "I'm not short, I'm fun-sized" and because I'm too uncoordinated to model.
5) I love reading, but more so, I love writing. Obsessively. Hummm.... writing.....
FAVORITES:
color: purple and charcoal grey... and black but don't think poorly of me.... black is cool.
food: creamed spinach:) and tater tots... hey, you gonna eat your tots?
music: I have far too many favorite artists and songs to tell you... but look at the side of the page for my playlists.... they should give you a rough idea... I tend to enjoy alternative, rock, and classical genres.
store: Barnes and Noble! Boooooooooks, glorious books!
class: English....!
artist: Andy Warhol! And I also quite like Monet, but more so what they both stood for; they had that awesome 'so what you don't like what I do I ain't stopping' thing about them.
hobby: writing, music, reading, and asking questions, as well as answering them. Oh and singing the alphabet backwards.... gotta love that.
place: Hummm.... Statesboro, Georgia, but we don't need to get into that.
actor: Robert Pattinson, the boy I will one day marry. 'Goin' to the chapel and we're gonna get married, goin' to the Chapel of Love!!!' Yay the Dixie Cups:0!
actress: Alexis Bledel. She is so gorgeous it hurts to look at. She shoulda played Bella. She wouldn't have called her fans 'retarded!'
book: The Twilight Saga, Crank, Speak, To Kill A Mocking Bird, Go Ask Alice, Wuthering Heights, Romeo and Juliet, The Boy In The Striped Pajamas, The Diary Of Anne Frank, as well as many, many others.
clothing: hoodies, skinny jeans, Converse high-tops, Vans, PURSES!, band tees, rubber bracelets, flats, tank tops, and vests. Wow I never knew I liked clothes so much!
Movies: Twilight, Donnie Darko (The sequel's coming out in JULY!), Finding Neverland, Speak, The Dead Poet's Society, Mamma Mia!, Across the Universe, The Outsiders, Without Love, Marley and Me, Harold and Maude, and so, so many more. I'm a movie junkie:)!
RANDOM QUOTE:
"You know what really just sucks? We're all going to die someday and there's nothing anyone can do about it."
That's about it for now....
